The Corsair 50 combines superb scale looks and outline with sport-like flying performance making it easier for everyday pilots to fly a warbird without too much hassle. In fact for anyone looking to transition from low-wing sport models to warbird flying, the Corsair 50 with its relatively docile flying characteristics is the perfect choice. Constructed from balsa and light weight plywood the Corsair 50 comes out of the box almost ready to fly with several scale features such as a pre-painted fiberglass cowl, 8-spoke scale wheels, a dummy radial engine, a scale ¾ inch aluminum spinner nut, a magnetic top battery hatch with hidden switches and a deep Navy (Corsair) Blue UltraCote covering complete with two different decal sets. The Corsair 50 comes as standard with fixed landing gear; however it easily upgraded to retractable gear as the wing has been designed to accept the optional E-flite "twist and turn" electric retracts that are easily fitted to give pilots a real "warbird" experience! Pilots looking to take advantage of the advances in motor and battery technology can power the Corsair 50 with electric power without any modifications necessary, making it easy for you to convert to electric power. The E-flite Power 46 motor (EFLM4046A) fits straight in and provides plenty of power for typical warbird flying, or if you decide to use a glow engine the Corsair has been designed around the Evolution .46 -.52 to .60 2-stroke engines (.72-.82 4-stroke) and these engines are equally easy to fit. Thanks to the amount of pre-fabrication and low parts count the model can be quickly and easily assembled and with Hangar 9's excellent assembly guide and comprehensive hardware pack this super model can be "combat" ready in a minimum amount of time.
